A terminal moraine is noticeable at the north end of the lake, which is the closest side to Tahoe. Although overshadowed by Tahoe’s magnificence, Fallen Leaf Lake also offers plenty of history, adventures, beauty and mystery.įallen Leaf was formed by a glacier that stopped short of converging onto Lake Tahoe.
